چکیده (انگلیسی):
Peer-assisted learningisoneofmanyeducationalstrategiesthatcanassiststudents'learningandtheirprofessionaldevelopment.
Its valuecouldbeenhancedifcombinedwithastudentcenteredlearningstrategysuchasteam-basedlearning.
Purpose: The aimofthispilotstudyistoevaluatetheimpactofpeer-assistedlearningassociatedwithteam-basedlearningonthe
learning experienceofdentalstudents.
Method: Forty-two dentalstudentsparticipatedinpeer-assistedlearningassociatedwithteam-basedlearningactivitiesand6of
them tooktheroleoftutorsintheteam-basedlearningsessions.Astructuredon-linequestionnairewassentto42studentsto
evaluate theirperceptionregardingtheimpactofpeer-assistedlearningassociatedwithteam-basedlearningontheirlearning
experience. Thirty-eight(90.5%)participantsoutof42answeredthequestionnaire.Sixteenstudentsvolunteeredtoparticipatein
focus-group interviewsforverification ofthequestionnaireresponses.
Results: Thirty-two participants(84%)agreedthatpeer-assistedlearningassociatedwithteam-basedlearningimprovedtheway
they studyandincreasedtheirinterestinthesubject.Thirty-five students(94%)indicatedthattheyenjoyedthislearning
experience. Inaddition,theywouldrecommendthisprogramtotheircolleagues.Thirty-one(82%)agreedthatpeer-assisted
learning associatedwithteam-basedlearningimprovedtheirteachingskills.Furthermore,thirty-onestudents(82%)indicatedthat
it increasedtheircommunicationskills.Allparticipantsagreedthattheyweresatisfied withtheoverallprogram.Theresults
obtained frombothstudents'surveyandfocus-groupinterviewswereconsistent.
Discussion: Our findings suggestedthatpeer-assistedlearningassociatedwithteam-basedlearningwasavaluablestrategyto
enhance learningamongstudents.Itcanalsoprovidethesestudentswithteachingexperiencewhichcouldhelptheirprofessional
development.
